What do you do with the lemons in your life? Jesus said ““I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.””

— John 16:33 NIV

If you take a lemon and add desire to it, that’s when you get lemonade. Many years ago, there were cranks on the front of automobiles to start the engine. People had to stand and crank as hard as possible to get the engine started. American engineer and inventor Charles Kettering, one day was cranking his car and the car lurched forward and broke his arm. Although he was in pain, while holding his broken arm, he thought, as long as we have this problem, the automobile never will be very popular. It was his broken arm that led him to invent the electrical self starter motor for automobiles. His lemon was a broken arm. His lemonade was the self starter. Jacob Schick, Had a lemon problem while prospecting for gold in Alaska, he wanted a shave. But at 40° below zero, shortly after he poured the water in the pan it was frozen. So he invented the electric razor Charles Goodyear’s lemon, for example, was a prison sentence. He was sent to prison because he wouldn’t pay a certain bill. While he was there, he had time and privacy to work on and perfect his process for vulcanizing rubber. This all suggests that we can expect to find some lemons during our lives, but we also have the assurance that the Lord will take these sour pieces of fruit and help us make lemonade Have a great day!
