How stubborn are you? “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
— John 3:16 NIV
Old man setting on his front porch. A huge storm was soon to approach. A big fire engine drives by. Fireman yells out, “Come go with us or you might die!” Old man replies “ Go on, God will save me!” Two hours goes by, water is up to the second story of the old mans house. Old man is calmly looking out the second story window. When a boat driven by the Coast Guard drives by. The Captin yells out “Get in the boat or you will drown sir!” Old man replies “ Go on, God will save me!” Another two hours goes by the water is all the way to the top of the roof. The old man is shaking from the cold standing in water on top of his roof. Helicopter comes by and the pilot gets on the loud speaker and says “ This is your last chance grab a hold of the ladder and we will take you to safety!” Old man replies “Go on, God will save me!” An hour later, the old man finds himself looking at God in heaven. The old man tells God “You embarrassed me. I told everybody you would save me and you let me die.” God replied “I sent a fire engine, a boat and a helicopter so you get what you get.” God may not have given you a fire engine, boat, or a helicopter to save you, but he did give you his son Jesus Christ to save you. So grab a hold of that lifeline and don’t let go.
Have a great day!
